Celebrating 120 Years in a Special Way

Come and grow our make-and-serve program this spring

(Allentown, PA)—This year is the 120 year anniversary of the Allentown Rescue Mission helping homeless and hungry men in the Greater Lehigh Valley. To celebrate this momentous occasion, they are asking for your help!

This spring, the Allentown Rescue Mission would like to celebrate its special anniversary by having 120 make-and-serve meals served to the men in their shelter. A make-and-serve meal is a meal that is prepared by you at home, then brought in and served to the men in the Allentown Rescue Mission.

The Allentown Rescue Mission provides over 42,900 nutritious meals in a year. These meals are the first step to a new life for the needy and homeless men that come through their doors.

Help the Allentown Rescue Mission reach its goal and sign up to provide a meal this spring. With your help, you can grow the make-and-serve program and help the men in the shelter bloom into hardworking men.

To provide a make-and-serve visit, https://www.allentownrescuemission.org/make-a- meal or contact Food Service Manager, Terry Miklas, at 610-740-5500 ext. 328.

Since 1900, The Allentown Rescue Mission has fed multitudes of hungry and hurting men. Today they embrace all those experiencing homelessness with the compassion of Jesus Christ. The Allentown Rescue Mission believes He has given us all a second chance in life-we’ve been saved, rescued and now get to provide that same hope and renewal to others here in the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding communities.

The Allentown Rescue Mission, a 501c3, 123 bed non-profit homeless shelter has been providing shelter for homeless men since 1900. In addition to emergency shelter services (365 days a year), the Mission offers a residential life skills program, and transitional employment on the Clean Team that’s available for hire to the community. The Clean Team pays the men above PA state minimum – helping them save a nest egg to transition back into the community. The Mission provides shelter services for over 946 men per year, and serves over 42,000 meals a year to men in need.
