ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION The next training session for the volunteer reading program is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 30, from 1:30-2:30PM at Jackson Elementary Childhood Center located at 517 N 15th Street, Allentown. Parking is on the street. Background clearances are required to volunteer in the schools and directions to obtain them will be distributed. BOUTIQUE AT THE RINK, Bethlehem is an organization of Lehigh Valley volunteers dedicated to supporting cancer services in the community through the annual sale of new and gently used items.  Volunteers are needed to sort donated items April 30 through May 15 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9am-7pm; Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays; & Saturdays from 9am-1pm.  Volunteers are also needed for Sale Days May 26-30.  Stay tuned for updates on volunteer registration and information meetings dates. THE NATIONAL CANAL MUSEUM, Easton seeks friendly folks for the 2020 season to serve as Youth Group Docent/Educator: These volunteers work specifically with our pre-scheduled youth group visitors. Groups of children will rotate through the Museum exhibits. This position will teach the groups about the museum exhibits and direct the activity sets for that exhibit. PROJECT OF EASTON is looking for volunteers to help with client shopping in our food pantry. On Mondays, volunteers are needed from 10am to 12:15pm. On Thursdays, volunteers are needed 10am to 12:15pm and also 1pm-3:15pm. You will be working directly with clients who depend on the Food Pantry to make ends meet. VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY is helping to coordinate volunteers at an Allentown food pantry. Help is needed with filling designated orders of food for their clients. There is no direct client interaction. The Food Bank is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 11:45am. Open dates are varied and any of those days that you can help is greatly appreciated!
