(Allentown, PA)—Giving Tuesday Now is based off of Giving Tuesday which is held every first Tuesday in December. During this pandemic, we are celebrating Giving Tuesday Now as a way to drive generosity, citizen engagement, and support for communities and nonprofits.

This global day of giving will be held on May 5, 2020. It offers a way for you to give back to your community while remaining at home. There are many ways that you can help the Allentown Rescue Mission continue to provide for homeless and hungry men in the Greater Lehigh Valley; donating, getting your family involved, and showing your support are just a few.

Donating to the Allentown Rescue Mission is easier than ever. Needed supplies can be found on the Allentown Rescue Mission website www.allentownrescuemission.org. You can also visit the

Mission’s Amazon Wish List page. Monetary donations will be accepted as well; they can be donated through the website. Consider being a monthly donor, and make an impact every month.

Getting your family involved is a fun way to support our men. Have your children write a letter or color a picture for one of the men in the Emergency Shelter. Post it to Allentown Rescue Mission social media by using the #ARMGivingTuesdayNow and let them and your friends know why you support the Allentown Rescue Mission.

Maybe consider volunteering. Volunteer to collect items from your neighbors and take them to the Mission. Volunteer to make face masks. Volunteer to drop off a meal. The opportunities are endless.

The Allentown Rescue Mission is still operating and accepting men as this is their home. Giving Tuesday Now is a way to help those in your community without even leaving your home. How will you help your neighbors now?
