Your help means more than you know

(Allentown, PA)—Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Allentown Rescue Mission has remained open and has been helping the homeless community find rescue and rehabilitation.

The Allentown Rescue Mission currently has 45 men residing at the shelter and they plan to continue to accept more men. The men will continue to receive shelter, meals, clothing, and counseling.

The Allentown Rescue Mission’s health and cleaning procedures are in line with what has been suggested by the CDC. The Allentown Rescue Mission’s goal is to continue to provide a home to those in need. However, they would not be able to do that without the help and support of their community.

Over the past few weeks, the community has come together to help provide for their neighbors. The generous outpouring of donations, as well as support on social media has encouraged them to continue changing lives.

Since the shut down of non-essential businesses, donations of needed supplies to the Allentown Rescue Mission has been outstanding. Restaurants, churches, organizations, and individuals all have done what they could to give back. The community has given bottles of hand sanitizer, face masks, food, money, and love.

The Allentown Rescue Mission thanks everyone who has supported them and made a donation. With your help, they are providing safe and healthy homes to men who need it the most. You are making the community better and changing lives, one day at a time.

The Allentown Rescue Mission, a 501c3, 123 bed non-profit homeless shelter has been providing shelter for homeless men since 1900. In addition to emergency shelter services (365 days a year), – the Mission offers a residential life skills program, and transitional employment on the Clean Team that’s available for hire to the community. The Clean Team pays the men above PA state minimum – helping them save a nest egg to transition back into the community. The Mission provides shelter services for over 750 men per year, and serves over 42,900 meals a year to men in need.
