Lamont McClure thanks the Northampton County Election’s Office, poll workers and County employees who assisted in a successful primary election. All polls opened on time and ran smoothly throughout the day with many voters expressing appreciation for the new e-book check-in system.

“Holding an election requires months of preparation, organization and training,” says Lamont McClure. “Poll workers work over fourteen hours during an election. Northampton County is grateful to those citizens who strongly support our democracy by participating in its most sacred institution—voting, especially during a pandemic.”

Northampton County was able to staff all 156 precincts with 850 poll workers. Pre-canvassers began counting mail-in ballots at 7:00 AM.

The Election’s Office completed the count of the approximately 36,000 mail-in ballots on Tuesday night.. Unofficial election results are posted on the county’s website: https://www.northamptoncounty.org
