BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is looking for volunteers for their 50th Anniversary Volunteer Committee. The 50th anniversary in 2021 will be a year-long schedule of activity to celebrate the depth and breadth of the agency’s impact in the community. We are looking for volunteers who could help for a few hours a week either virtually or in-person at our office in Allentown. Tasks include: Fundraising; Branding & Marketing; Broadening Our Base; Research & Outreach strategies & roles, plus more. FEED THE CHILDREN, Bethlehem is looking for volunteers in September to help fill food and hygiene boxes for children and families in need 9AM-noon every Tues & Thurs; 5-8PM every Thurs. Masks will not be provided but we will provide gloves. Social distancing rules apply on assembly line. You must be able to stand for 3 hours at a time and will need to be able to lift 15-25 pounds. Please bring your own water/drinks. Children 11-15 years of age can volunteer with parent supervision. HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES is seeking volunteers to help with this year’s Apple Days and the brand-new Market to Go! Assist with curbside pickup of delicious apple treats during the Market to Go 11:30AM-6:30PM September 21-25. Help with food, drinks, children’s activities, and more in a variety of shifts and locations throughout the festival 9:30AM-4:30PM September 26 & 27. NAZARETH CENTER FOR THE ARTS is looking for board members specifically in the areas of artist relations/gallery coordinator, finance and marketing. Board meetings are held at 7PM on the 2nd Monday of every month. Background in art, music or previous board experience appreciated but not required. SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem needs many volunteers to help with taking non-Covid-19 clients to their vital appointments. All volunteers will have to attend on-line orientation, provide criminal background check, and provide proof of insurance. Cloth masks & hand sanitizer provided to volunteers. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield is looking for a small group to help prepare & level the ground to get ready for a 25′ x 35′ prefab shelter for the ranch animals. The ground is mostly shale and firm enough to support the weight of the shelter, it just needs to be made level with perimeter area sloping away from the structure. THE WHOLE LIFE CENTER, Easton, needs volunteers to help Coordinators unload the truck from Sam’s Club 11AM -1PM on Tues, Thurs and Sats. Each box gets weighed and then put food in freezers or fridges. Then they would reload the remaining boxes back onto the truck for delivery to other pantries and shelters. Pantry volunteers are required to wear head covering; long hair must be pulled back or under a hat. Masks and gloves are required and will be provided or bring your own. We need at least 2 male volunteers to assist with unloading and reloading trucks. Please Note: State regulations require all volunteers to be over 18 and under 65, Nor can we accept volunteers for community service hours.
