Historic Downtown Bethlehem, PA 9/14/2020: The traditional HarvestFest street fair celebration will look a little different this year due to Covid-19. To abide by current mandates, the trails that have once been paved along Main & Broad Streets are reinvented and new events have emerged! HarvestFest has historically been a one-day celebration on the first Saturday of October. This year, the Downtown Bethlehem Association has extend their Harvest Daze & Nights celebration over a five-day period, to prevent overcrowding and to promote safety for guests who will visit.

The event will begin September 29th through October 3rd, with a virtual Vegan cooking class to kick-off the celebration, on September 28th. To replace the traditional and popular wine, soup and beer trails, 3 passports will offer complimentary offerings from participating restaurants. Patrons can purchase a passport to pick 6, 4 or 2 offerings at participating restaurants, which also includes exclusive discounts and specials from downtown retail shops.
“For this year’s event, we wanted our faithful Fest-er’s to come Downtown to support, shop, and dine with our merchants. It’s crucial right now more than ever, as we’re about to enter these colder months. This 5-day event has been designed to support our merchants and to get people outdoors and walking around in all of this open air” says Tammy Wendling, Manager of the Downtown Bethlehem Association.

In addition to shopping and dining, what would Fall be without a Scarecrow Competition? All throughout the month of October, visit Main & Broad Streets to vote for your favorite Scarecrow. Live voting will take place online at www.getdowntownbethlehem.com. Scarecrow kits are still available for those looking to enter.
