BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS LEHIGH VALLEY is looking for compassionate and energetic volunteers to become ‘Bigs’ for youth ages seven (7) to sixteen (16) in Lehigh and Northampton County. We have approximately 270 Little’s waiting to be matched with a Big. Our matches typically meet twice a month and can participate in activities that they are most interested in. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, Fountain Hill & Allentown is looking to the community to help brighten the day of residents who have been unable to have visitors or social programming these past several months. Inspirational (non-religious) cards and letters, or drawings and painting created by youth or adults would be a welcomed addition to everyone’s day! Dedicated staff would also enjoy notes of thanks! GREATER VALLEY YMCA is looking for volunteers to assist in food preparation and distribution on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and make a positive impact in the community through our Grab n’ Go meal sites for youth and adults. INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY provides 24/7 door through door ride service for seniors age 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. In order to provide this service, we need volunteer drivers to help us with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. No minimum hours required. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem needs volunteers to prepare salads & takeout orders from our Soup Kitchen, weekdays 9am – 1pm. Volunteers are also needed in the Choice Food Pantry to stock shelves and serve guests at the food pantry weekdays 9-11am. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs 2 volunteers per day to assist with feeding and watering the animals, and groups no bigger than 5 to help with grounds maintenance, composting, cleaning stalls, cutting grass & weed whacking. Minimum age with parent/guardian supervision is 10 years old, without supervision is 14 years old. Volunteers are required to wear masks and to social distance. THE WHOLE LIFE CENTER, Easton needs volunteers 10:30AM – 2PM on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Pantry Day Workers would assist with assembling boxes of food and either give to clients at the loading dock or put the boxes into their car. As activities are slowing down everything can start to be put away and cleaned up. Masks and gloves are required and will be provided or bring your own. We need at least 2 male volunteers to assist with unloading and reloading trucks. Please Note: State regulations require all volunteers to be over 18 and under 65, Nor can we accept volunteers for community service hours.
