DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, Easton. Help to beautify the National Canal Museum’s portico 8:00AM – 12:00PM Saturday, October 17. Prep and install stone around portico of National Canal Museum. No special skills required. All tools provided, as well as water and snacks. EQUI-LIBRIUM THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP, Nazareth needs volunteers to be a Side Helper and a Horse Leader. A Side Helper is directly involved in the lesson, walking alongside the horse and helping the rider reach their goals. The Horse Leader is getting the horse ready (grooming and tacking) and then leading the horse during the lesson. Training is required. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RESTORE, Whitehall is holding a Paint Recycling Event on 10/17. Volunteers will remove paint donations from vehicles, inspect the cans to determine if acceptable & return unacceptable cans to donors. Facemasks required & social distance rules apply. MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Northampton County needs drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. Volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule permits; we provide step-by-step directions and delivery instructions. Current need greatest for our Bethlehem, Slate Belt and Easton sites. MUSEUM OF INDIAN CULTURE, Allentown needs volunteers to help weed and rake the grounds in preparation for an event on October 24. Perfect for groups or individuals of all ages. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK, Nazareth needs volunteers to pack Sunshine Boxes 8:30-11:30AM or 12:30-3:30PM on the Third Tuesday & Wednesday of the month. Tasks include assembling cardboard boxes, packing boxes of food, organizing and loading packages. Minimum age 16 with parental supervision. Water & snacks will be provided. SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem needs many volunteers to help with taking non-Covid-19 clients to their vital appointments. All volunteers will have to attend on-line orientation, provide criminal background check and proof of insurance. SIXTH STREET SHELTER, Allentown is in need of volunteers for our Socially distant Halloween Parade for shelter residents to help with set-up, clean-up, and the parade itself 1:00-2:30PM on October 31. LEHIGH COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, is Looking for volunteers to help at our 1st annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on Thursday, October 15, to benefit the animals of the Lehigh County Humane Society! It will be held at Olde Homestead Golf Course, New Tripoli, and promises to be a day full of fun and a great way to connect with people at this outdoor event.
