(Lehigh Valley, PA) – WDIY’s 2020 Fall Membership Drive has provided 12,362 meals to individuals in need through Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. The cost of the meals were covered through a partnership with Valley National Financial Advisors.

Through this unique partnership, for every $100 donated to WDIY during the station’s fundraiser, Valley National Financial Advisors provided the funds to Second Harvest to deliver 21 meals. Second Harvest’s network of agencies which receive meals include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare facilities and rehabilitation facilities.

Second Harvest’s Director Katarah Jordan said, “We give many thanks to WDIY and Valley National Financial Advisors for their partnership again this year. Times are tough for many people, and the Second Harvest network continues to serve more people than ever before. This contribution means that Second Harvest can provide 12,362 meals to the families that need them most!”

WDIY’s 2020 Fall Membership Drive officially ended on October 28th. The annual drive is the largest fundraiser of the year for WDIY. The drive provides funds for essential operational support of the station.

WDIY has worked with Second Harvest since 2012. To date, WDIY’s Fall Membership Drives have provided over 81,000 meals to Lehigh Valley residents through similar partnerships. Valley National Financial Advisors has partnered with WDIY to cover the costs of the meals since 2017.
