Allentown School District announces the following events will take place between in our schools.

 

NOTE Upcoming Day Off:

  • February 15: No School for ALL students – Presidents’ Day 

Events:

  • Building 21 Allentown High School – February 1 – March 4: 2016-2017 Applications Accepted. Rising 8th grade students residing in the Allentown School District Boundaries can apply to go to Building 21 Allentown High School next year. A lottery will be used to determine the first 150 students any additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist. Interested students can click this link to fill out an application:  https://building21.schoolmint.net/. 
  • William Allen High School – February 17; 2:50 p.m.: Meet Judge, the Allentown Arson Dog Officers will discuss responsibilities of a firefighter and how dogs aide the fire department.
  • Dieruff High School – February 17; 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: FAFSA Completion Workshop in Room B6.
  • Newcomer Academy – February 17; 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Winter Open House for newest students and their families but all are welcome to attend. There will be presentations, raffles, food and college and community representatives.
  • Raub Middle School – February 18; 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: ESL Class in Room 120 for Raub parents who are signed up to attend. Contact Mrs. Surita at 484-765-5313 for more information; currently there is a waiting list.
  • Central Elementary School – February 23; 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Parent Academy is an event for Central Elementary parents/guardians who have a child entering Kindergarten next year. Allentown Promise Neighborhood and LVCC are offering information on Kindergarten readiness. Food and beverages. First 20 families receive one free school uniform, compliments of The Archive. Parents/guardians must RSVP to Cindy Suarez at 610-351-4288 or cindys@promiseneighborhoodslv.org 
  • ASD Parent/Guardians Workshop – February 24; 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Understanding the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) & Gifted (GIEP) Workshop at Raub Middle School located at 102 South St Cloud Street. This workshop is FREE and open to all ASD parents/guardians. Facilitators will provide information on pre-evaluation, evaluation and management of the IEP/GIEP and will include limitations, scenarios and a brief overview of the special education process in the Allentown School District.
  • Trexler Middle School – February 25; 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Multicultural Night celebrating Trexler’s 50th Birthday and ASD’s 150th.
  • South Mountain Middle School – February 25; 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: 9th Annual Family Fun Night. The event features free food, carnival games, face painting, Zumba, indoor sports games, Bingo, and various other family friendly activities. The event is Free and open to the community.
  • Building 21 Allentown High School – February 25; 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Parent Information Night offering information on enrollment for any family with a current student in Grade 8 who would like information on enrolling at Building 21.
  • William Allen High School – February 26; 7:00 p.m.: 3rd Annual AllenCapella A Cappella Showcase in the Dr. John F. McHugh Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students with valid ID. To purchase complete a Ticket Order Form (on William Allen High School website) or contact the group’s advisor Jeffrey Dutt at duttj@allentownsd.org or by calling 484-765-5000 extension 3021.
