Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame Class 0f 2015 TBA at Mike Mittman Induction



Super Bowl Champion James Mungro from East Stroudsburg South and Syracuse University leads the Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame 2015 Induction Class. On Friday night October 24 at the special Mike Mittman Induction & Fundraiser at Pitcher’s Bar & Lounge. Mike Mittman says “On Friday night I will be touched to announce many of my future Hall of Famers and LVSHOF Recognition Winners, throughout the night during the Oldies Party from 6-10. Lehigh Valley Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors and youth benefitting from their programs will be conducting raffles, t-shirt sales, drawings and Memorabilia for Charities will be holding a Silent Auction of Entertainment and Sports Items. They have astounded me with all of the people they having coming past inductees former and current boxers, wrestlers and MMA fighters. I’ve been told they have contacted many music people I have been affiliated with over the years and of course the Champ Larry Holmes we’re also receiving an award for our TV Show “What were they thinking?”

Dr. Dave Turtzo DMD Bangor High and Villanova U basketball player. Michelle Marciniak, Allentown Central Catholic, U of Tenn. NCAA Women’s Champ and MVP, pro basketball. Legendary coach Mike Kopp CCHS. Mike Brown Bethelehem Catholic and Lehigh U 2-time NCAA wrestling champion. Pro Bowling’s Ed Ressler Allentown (deceased). Soccer George Kazakos Liberty and Freedom High School. Bobbi Jo Powell Easton cross country and track. Football Bob Oplinger, Northampton High School and Wake Forest, Bruce Trotter Allentown High School and Dieruff as head coach. Danny Sachs football QB Emmaus and Princeton, Rhodes Scholar (deceased). Multi-Sport athlete Dave Schneck Whitehall, MLB baseball. Jimmy Schaffer Coopersburg H.S. MLB and World Series ring as coach with KC. Royals in 1985. Ron Berta Dieruff, KC. A’s organization. Dan Waechli Dieruff baseball and Detroit Tigers.

LVSHOF 2015 Inductees represent 12 high schools, 13 colleges, SEC, Big East, IVY, ACC, ECC, ECAC, Big East, Northeast, Big 5 and Texas sports conferences.

No fee to enter, please be generous since this benefits high school and college student athletes. The parameters for Inducttes and ward winners is from The Poconos south to Perkasie, east from Phillipsburg NJ west to Kutztown, PA
