The Allentown Patriotic Pet Parade will again take place on Linden Street at the festival.  Entrants should pre-register through Friends of the Allentown Parks at www.allentownparks.org or register at the event from 5:30 – 6:00pm.  The pet parade will take place from 6:15pm–6:30pm, with prizes for best Pet & Pal Combo, Best in Show, and Most Patriotic Pet.

Food vendors and food trucks will be spread out at the street festival featuring authentic cuisine from Puerto Rican Culture Preservation and Caribbean Noodles. Popcorn Pit will offer kettle corn, popcorn and a variety of nuts. MMG Concessions will offer fresh made-to-order wraps, smoothies, and funnel cake. Angelo’s Concessions will serve walking tacos and soft pretzels. Stuffed to the Grills will offer fan favorites such as Irish nachos and gourmet sandwiches.

Metz Amusements will again bring carnival rides to thrill kids along the Linden Street Festival.

Entertainment will begin in J. Birney Crum Stadium at 6:00pm including performances by the award-winning Scott Marshall Highway Band, and by the elite dancers of Sharon Plessl School of Dance.  Danny V’s 52nd St. Band will play the rocking rhythms of Billy Joel, and children from Allentown’s Summer Playground Program will perform a patriotic flag drill. The William Allen High School Chorale will perform the National Anthem, with the American flag being presented by the ROTC program of Dieruff High School. The night will be capped by a brilliant 4th of July fireworks show that is sure to dazzle the audience. New for 2016, thanks to WLEV and Cumulus Media, the fireworks show will be accompanied by music broadcast through J. Birney Crum Stadium.

ZY Pyrotechnics of Wapwallopen is producing this year’s fireworks show.  The show will be bigger and better than ever for 2016!
