Soul Holds Town Takeover at Lehigh Parkway Elementary School

Takeover includes Walk-Through Practice, Autograph Session with Players

and a chance to meet Soul owners Ron Jaworski and Marques Colston

PHILADELPHIA (June 29, 2016)  The Philadelphia Soul will host a Town Takeover in Allentown on Friday,

July 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Town Takeover, will take place at the Lehigh Parkway Elementary School located at 1708 Coronado Street in Allentown, the site of the recently announced playground build supported by the Soul, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks and Mealey’s Furniture.

The Town Takeover is free and open to the public.  During the event, the entire Soul football team and coaching staff will be in attendance as well as appearances from Soul owners Ron Jaworski and Marques Colston, the Soulmates dance team, Soulman, the Soul mascot and Soul front office staff.

The event includes:  The Soul team holding a “walk through” practice in preparation for the game at the PPL Center the next evening, July 9 at 6pm.  Kids will be asked to participate by “running plays” with the Soul team towards the end of the practice.  There will be a kids zone with sign making, balloon art and face painting.  There will be a food truck and ice cream available for purchase and beverage sampling from Pepsi.  There will be live music from CAT Country 96 and 100.7 LEV radio stations, with DJ’s Sam Malone and Scott Evans in attendance.  All will have an opportunity to get their picture taken and autographs from Soul players, dancers and ownership.

“Town Takeovers are a great opportunity for fans to connect with our owners, players and coaches.  At 10-3, we are obviously proud of our team on the field at this point.  However, we are even more proud of the individuals that make up this team and entire organization, and we are excited to bring our organization to Allentown to connect with all in attendance on Friday, July 8,” said John Adams, Chief Operating Officer of the Soul.

This will be the team’s last practice before the Soul (10-3) host the Cleveland Gladiators (7-6) at the PPL Center on Saturday, July 9 at 6pm.  This is a critical game for the Soul as they try to position themselves for the highest seed in the league which would give them an opportunity to host ArenaBowl 29 should the Soul make it to that game.

Tickets for the game on July 9 at the PPL Center will be available at the Town Takeover through the Lehigh Parkway Elementary School fundraiser initiative, where a portion of all tickets sold at the Town Takeover will help fund the playground being built at the school.
