Two legendary bands come together for one night of nostalgia at the Sand’s Event Center, The Beach Boys & The Temptations. The classic hits were wonderful and brought back many memories of the beach and going to classic car shows with my father.

The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys had over eighty songs chart worldwide, thirty-six of them US Top 40 hits. In 1962 the band launched their 1st album, Surfing’ Safari, that spent 37 weeks on the billboard chart. Who knew this band form in Hawthorn, California in 1961 would have sold in excess of 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time. The Beach Boys were introduced into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1981.

“We have reunited as a band, but we never ‘un-reunited’ as friends,” says Bruce Johnston. “To be back in the studio with these guys is like a prayer that’s been answered and I am thrilled to be sharing it with everybody.” “This is more like a family reunion than anything,” says David Marks. “When we’re together, we get along great. The chemistry always works the same as the last time we were together, and the five of us become a single element.”

The Temptations

The group formed in 1960 in Detroit, Michigan under the name “The Elgins”. With the success of their Motown Records during the 1960’s and 1970’s, The Temptations continue to perform with one living original member, Otis Williams, still in the lineup. Over the course of their career, the Temptations have released four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles and fourteen R&B number-one singles, and their material has earned them three Grammy Awards.
