December 5, 2016 – Univest Bank and Trust Co. celebrated the opening of its first financial center in the Lehigh Valley, which is located in the Hamilton Crossings Shopping Center, with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening festivities for the community. Univest executives were joined by State Representative Ryan Mackenzie, Lehigh County Commissioner Percy Dougherty and Urban Affairs Liaison for Senator Browne, Alta Mercado. Pastor Suzanne Trump from St. John’s Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church delivered a dedication prayer.

This new location features Univest’s branch model focused on an improved customer experience that partners personal bankers with technology solutions. This model was first introduced in early 2015 and has been well received by customers. Through the staff of experienced Personal Bankers, customers will have the convenience of working with one person for their entire banking experience. Whether cashing a check, making a deposit or applying for a loan, the Personal Banker who greets a customer is equipped to help with every banking need. For customers requiring in-person, more time-consuming banking transactions or consultative appointments, Personal Bankers will make arrangements for private meetings at the office after-hours to accommodate busy schedules.

”While we have been active in the Lehigh Valley through commercial lending, wealth management and insurance areas for nearly eight years, opening this Hamilton Crossings financial center is historic for Univest as it gives us our first retail presence in the Valley,” said Jeff Schweitzer, president and CEO, Univest Corporation. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to use our 140 years of financial expertise to serve the residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations living and working in this thriving community.”

Since its founding in 1876 in Souderton, Montgomery County, Univest has expanded its service area and offerings. In addition to traditional banking, Univest currently provides a full range of financial solutions including insurance, investments, mortgage banking, wealth management and equipment financing. In addition to this first financial center in the Lehigh Valley, Univest’s service area consists of Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Lancaster Counties in Pennsylvania and Cape May County in New Jersey.
