“I am running because through my experience of service to our community, I understand how Whitehall Government works and should work,” said Palagonia. “I understand the needs of the residents of our township, and I have the commitment necessary to create a stronger Whitehall, a vibrant community with high quality of life that is a  better place to live, work and raise a family.”

Palagonia, who served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam, served as a Whitehall Police Officer for 28 years.  During this time, Palagonia earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Alvernia College.  After his retirement from the Whitehall Police force, he taught law enforcement and security classes at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, and still serves on the LCTI Advisory Board.  In 1998, he was appointed to the Whitehall Township Zoning Hearing Board, and in 2001, was elected as a Township Commissioner.

“I have the vision to be your Mayor and a Five Point Plan to make Whitehall work for us all,” he stated. My objectives are to:  Create More Jobs Through Economic Development, Increase Public Safety, Restore Fiscal Responsibility, Preserve Open Space, and Improve the Quality of Life.  My entire adult life has been defined by service, and now I want to further serve the hard-working people of Whitehall by serving as your Mayor.  Together, we can build a better Whitehall that can stand tall in the Valley.”
