Valley Preferred Cycling Center Launches Concert Series

Apply to Play in the 2017 WSB Concert Series

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – Friday night in T-Town is a tradition that has lasted for decades. This year will be no different, if not, better than ever.

The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is accepting applications for acts to play in the 2017 World Series of Bicycling Concert Series. The chance to perform live in front of thousands of fans leading into Olympic bicycle racing.

“Our big initiative this off-season is to heighten the fan experience,” said Juliann Masenheimer, VPCC Events and Communications Manager. “We, along with our fans, love the live music in the plaza during happy hour on Friday nights. We are just stepping up our process in hopes of getting more and better talent to perform for our great fanbase.”

There are approximately 13 openings in the concert series, which will run nearly every Friday night June-August.

“We are looking for a pretty wide range of acts,” said Masenheimer. “We are open to original music or covers. We are happy with acoustic or electric acts. We have a diverse fanbase stretching across different demographics and different tastes in music.”

Set lengths can range anywhere from 40 minutes up to two hours, depending on the act and the specific night.

Acts are being booked on a rolling basis. For more information and to apply, view the gig on SonicBids here.

The introduction of the WSB Concert Series is just one of many initiatives enacted for 2017 with the aim of bettering the fan’s experience in T-Town. Earlier this year the VPCC announced simplifications to the ticketing structure, and launched a new mobile app. More are set to roll out in the coming weeks with announcements coming soon.
