FIREWORK EXTRAVAGANZAS RETURN TO T-TOWN FOR THIRD SEASON

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – After two years of jaw-dropping shows, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center is bringing back the Firework Extravaganzas for the 2017 World Series of Bicycling season. Executive Director Marty Nothstein announced the firework displays early Tuesday afternoon.

“We are excited to have two firework nights this summer in T-Town,” Nothstein said. “The shows, which are some of the best I’ve ever seen, are a perfect way to end a night full of great, Olympic racing. We are happy to have Carl Schmoyer III, the Schmoyer Funeral Home, the Trexler Funeral Home, and the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, as well as Celebration Fireworks, returning for this season.”

The first show of the season is on Saturday, June 10, following the UCI Red Robin All-Stars. The show caps off Opening Weekend of the 2017 World Series of Bicycling season. The second show of the season is on Friday, August 25, following the T-Town Showdown. The show bookends the 2017 WSB season as that is the season finale.

“The Schmoyer Funeral Home, the Trexler Funeral Home and the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home are happy to return for a third season sponsoring the Firework Extravaganzas by Celebration Fireworks to the great fans in T-Town,” said Carl Schmoyer III, who orchestrates the events. “The fireworks have gained a following over the years at the velodrome and we are so proud to again work with Marty Nothstein and his staff to wow the Valley Preferred Cycling Center and the entire Lehigh Valley twice this summer.”

The first Firework Extravaganza in T-Town was in 2015 as that year’s World Series of Bicycling season finale was capped off by a post-race fireworks display. In 2016, there were shows on the season opening and season ending night.

The Firework Extravaganzas are part of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s initiative to better the fan experience in T-Town. So far, this season, VPCC has announced simplifications to its ticketing structure, a new mobile app, and the World Series of Bicycling Concert Series. More fan centered announcements are to come.

Season tickets for the 2017 World Series of Bicycling season, which gives admission to these firework shows, are currently on sale here. Single tickets for these events are set to go on sale in late May.
