Subaru Shares Lots of Love For Meals On Wheels of Northampton County

Participation in Share the Love Event leads to generous grant for program support

(BETHLEHEM) – Meals On Wheels America awarded Meals On Wheels of Northampton a $12,672 grant through the latter’s participation in the 2016-2017 Subaru of America’s Share the Love Event.

As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru donated $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charity, such as Meals on Wheels, for every new vehicle sold or leased from November 17, 2016, through January 3, 2017.

Locally, Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem has partnered with Meals On Wheels of Northampton County to raise money and awareness for the Bethlehem-based nonprofit organization for the past four years. “We are proud to have helped support an extremely worthy cause,” says David Kopew, general manager for Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem.

“Meals On Wheels is more than just a provider of daily nutrition to our neighbors and community members that are no longer physically able to provide meals for themselves. It is an opportunity for folks who use the service to keep their independence and pride, while at the same time being checked on daily by a gracious neighborhood volunteer.”

Meals On Wheels of Northampton County is a private, nonprofit organization that has supported healthy living through the delivery of nutrition services since 1972. We provide meals and smiles for more than 1,500 seniors and adults with disabilities each year. In 2017, we expect to prepare more than 565,000 hot and cold, medically tailored meals for our clients as well as three Meals On Wheels organizations, all Senior Centers in Lehigh County, ProJeCt of Easton’s day care and the Bethlehem YMCA’s adult day care.
