6TH ANNUAL ALLENTOWN WOOFSTOCK AT CEDAR BEACH SEPTEMBER 9, 2017 FROM 12:00-5:00 P.M.

Friends of the Allentown Parks is pleased to present the 6th Annual Allentown Woofstock on September 9 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Allentown’s beautiful Cedar Beach. Exhibitors and animal rescue groups will line the pathway under the shady sycamore trees at the children’s playground. Dogs of all ages and sizes are invited to play doggie games including basketball, baseball and relay races. Pet blessings will be performed at 1:00 and the public is invited to attend demonstrations by Judge, the Allentown Fire Department’s arson dog, the Allentown Police Department K-9 unit and Wolfpack Search and Recovery.

Sign up your pooch for four fabulous contests: Pet and Parent Look Alike, Allentown’s Flower Power Pooch, Allentown’s Grooviest Dog and Best Pet Trick! Advance registration is available on-line at www.allentownparks.org.  On-site registration begins at noon and contests begin at 4:00 p.m. Prizes are donated by Chaar Pet Supply.

Visit the Friends Book Fair and vie for raffle/silent auction items (open 12-3:30 p.m.) while children enjoy coloring, chalk art and more at the children’s activities area by the volleyball courts. Dogs can relax at the Doggie Rest Station.

The opening musical act is the Muhlenberg College Pep Band followed by Acoustic Project (classic rock). Food vendors include Bull & Bear, V & C Food Services, E-Z Concessions and Tyler Shave Ice.

This is a dog- and family-friendly community event. Please be conscious of weather conditions for pet safety. In addition, participants must adhere to the following rules and regulations:

– Pets must be leashed (if retractable, must be able to lock on short setting) or otherwise be properly restrained

– Pets must be up to date on vaccinations, people friendly and non-aggressive

– Please do not bring animals that are in heat or under four months old

– Water bowls will be provided for pets

– Owners/handlers are responsible for their pet’s behavior as well as for cleaning up after them.
