VENTURE ACADEMY IV

BUILDING A CREATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE
COMMUNITY IN BETHLEHEM
 –

BETHLEHEM, PA — The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) kicks off its fourth installment of the Venture Academy Series for adults, with a talk by Tony Hanna, Executive Director of the Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority on Tuesday, September 26th from 6-7:30pm.  This fall series of guided explorations, which will focus on building a creative and sustainable community with an emphasis on the collaborative contributions of governmental, business, educational, cultural and arts leaders, will then continue on Tuesday evenings and feature additional talks by:  Mark Erickson of Northampton Community College, John Saraceno of Saraceno Design, Jeff Vaclavik of Deja Brew Coffeehouse, Doug Roysdon of Mock Turtle Marionette Theatre, Anna Russell of Allentown Public Theatre, and John Callahan, former mayor of Bethlehem.

The Venture Academy, now in its second year and fourth installment, is a series designed to promote provocative ideas, images, and sensations for venturesome adults seeking to cope with an increasingly complex, bewildering, exciting, interesting, and sometimes scary world.  The Venture Academy is produced by Norman Girardot, Professor Emeritus, Lehigh University in collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ Adult Enrichment Workshop Series.  Presenters volunteer their time to the Venture Academy and proceeds benefit the Charter Arts Creativity Fund for Teachers which supports distinctive creative projects and opportunities for teachers at Charter Arts.

All sessions take place at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts at 321 East 3rd Street in Bethlehem on Tuesday evenings from 6-7:30pm from September 26- October 31 (excluding Oct. 24). The fees for the series range from $20 for a single session to $85 for a full series pass.  (There is also a buddy/couple pass available).  Registration is over the phone at 610-868-2971 Ext. 3185.
