New SteelStacks Zombie Ball Highlights 13 Spook-tacular ArtsQuest Halloween Events This Month

BETHLEHEM, PA—It’s a graveyard smash! Join ArtsQuest as it celebrates Halloween with 13 terrifyingly fun events highlighted by the new SteelStacks Zombie Ball presented by Lehigh Valley Scream Park Oct. 28, 8 p.m., in the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling. Tickets for the Zombie Ball are available now at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378; they’re $13 and limited to the first 666 zombies.

The Zombie Ball features live music from local party band favorites Flowers for Taco and DJ Jamal Knight, as well as an eerie aerial performance by Aerial Minds. Get in the spirit with zombie-style dancing, see into your post-apocalyptic future with crystal ball readings, have infectious fun in the haunted bounce house and strike an undead pose in the selfie area. Guests are encouraged to don their favorite formal wear with creepy zombie makeup and prizes will be award for Best Dressed Zombie Man, Woman and Couple; however, all Halloween costumes are welcome. Not sure how to look like a zombie? Artists will be on hand to create bloodcurdling looks at a face painting station!

Let The Right One In Oct. 2, 7:15 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center This 2008 Swedish romantic horror film, part of the International Film Series at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas, is about a young girl’s connection to a string of bloody local murders. Dracula: Classic Horror Series Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center In this 1931 classic, the dashing, mysterious Count Dracula travels to London and takes up residence in an old castle. Soon he begins to wreak havoc, sucking the blood of young women and turning them into vampires. Tickets: $10 regular | $8 student & senior | $7.50 ArtsQuest Member 

Zombies vs. Vampires at First Friday Oct. 6, 6 p.m. The Banana Factory Arts Center Join the Banana Factory Arts Center for a thrilling night of family fun. Kids will start by making mixed-media masks for Team Zombie or Team Vampire, then take part in a scary scavenger hunt that starts in the Visual Arts Classroom. While completing the activity, participants learn about artistic vocabulary while searching to see which Banana Factory Resident Artists are Team Zombie or Team Vampire! Children are invited to come in costume. FREE 

Hot Glass Experience at Oktoberfest Oct. 6-8 & 13-15 PNC Plaza at SteelStacks What’s better than carving a pumpkin? Making one with fire! Start your glass-making adventure with the ArtsQuest Glass Studio by signing up for a Hot Glass Experience at Oktoberfest! Each session takes 20 minutes. Ages 6 and up are welcome, and no experience is necessary. $50 

Night of the Living Dead Oct. 7, 9:45 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center Experience the original “Night of the Living Dead” on the big screen for one night only, part of our First Saturday Horror Series. Tickets: $10 regular | $8 student & senior | $7.50 ArtsQuest Member 

The Wolf Man: Classic Horror Series Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center In this 1941 film, Larry Talbot kills a wolf with a silver walking cane. A gypsy explains that it was her son, a werewolf, that he killed, and that Larry is now one himself. Tickets: $10 regular | $8 student & senior | $7.50 ArtsQuest Member 

Friday the 13th Oct. 13, 9:45 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center The 13th of October falls on a Friday this year and that means one thing: ArtsQuest is screening the original “Friday the 13th” at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas! Horror fans will also enjoy an exclusive screening of “NothingFace,” a short film by Dan Maher of improv comedy troupe ManDudeBro. Dawn of the Dead Oct. 14, 9:45 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center George A. Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead” is the sequel to his classic, “Night of the Living Dead,” and remains a masterpiece in the world of horror. Not-So-Silent Cinema Performs: The Phantom of the Opera Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center The 1925 silent movie comes to life at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas! While the film plays, the Not-So-Silent Cinema musicians will be performing the score live for this beautiful and haunting classic. Halloween Candy Bowl Oct. 21, 10 a.m.-noon The Banana Factory Arts Center Visit the Banana Factory Arts Center for this family workshop and see how creative you can be together by making a festive Halloween candy bowl perfect for Trick-or-Treating! $10 | $9 ArtsQuest Member 

Shaun of the Dead Oct. 21, 9:45 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center Starring Simon Pegg, this 2004 British horror comedy film is about a man named Shaun who decides to turn his life around by getting his ex to take him back. However, he times it for right in the middle of what may be a zombie apocalypse. Part of Cult Saturdays at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. The Rocky Horror Picture Show Oct. 20, 27 & 28, 11:30 p.m. Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at the ArtsQuest Center Catch this cult classic film on the big screen!
