ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION is seeking volunteers to work with kindergartners learning to read at various schools throughout the city for one hour per week during the school year. Background clearances required. Call Susan Williams, 484-765-4093, williamssu@allentownsd.org.

CENTER FOR VISION LOSS, Allentown needs volunteers to be “Annie’s Angels” to do home visits, read mail, and provide companionship. Volunteers to drive customers to doctor appointments, shopping, or center activities are also needed. Hours are flexible and are determined by need. Training will be provided. DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATL. HERITAGE CORRIDOR, Easton seeks volunteers to help with a family-friendly Halloween Event from 5:30-9:30pm at “Haunted” Hugh Moore Park on 10/20, 21, 27, & 28. Assistance is needed with serving refreshments, craft activities, setting up/cleaning up, and ensuring that visitors have a “spooktacular” time. EQUI-LIBRIUM, INC., Nazareth is starting their Fall session and needs volunteers (14+ years) to help as horse handlers or side helpers to assist the riding instructor and/or therapist in carrying out the riders’ individual program plan. Call Yvonne Darlington, 610-365-2266,

HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES is in need of volunteers to serve as museum tour guides/docents. Docents introduce guests to the heritage stories they find at our many historic sites. They may also be trained to provide seasonal tours. Training is provided for docents. They also need an experienced Graphic Designer to assist the Marketing Coordinator. A portfolio is requested. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS needs volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. This program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. To participate, go to www.volunteerlv.org and fill out a 2017 Donor Pledge Form. Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at UGI Auditorium at 2121 City Line Ave., Bethlehem from 12noon-6pm on 11/28 through 11/30 or Friday 12/1 from 10am-3pm ONLY.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown is looking for volunteers (18+ years) to distribute meals to homebound individuals between 11am-1pm Monday-Friday. Teams of 2 deliver to 33 routes throughout Lehigh County. Drive a route or ride along as a visitor. Bring a friend and form a team or let us provide a partner for you. THIRD STREET ALLIANCE, Easton needs volunteers to join the Lafayette Students who are helping to organize books, games, and furniture to create a new library for our teachers and children in their Learning Center on Saturday, 10/28 from 9:30am-3:30pm. This library will be named after one of their student volunteers from Lafayette College who passed away last spring from a car accident.
