ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION has volunteer spots available for their 15th Annual WAEB Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, October 14th at Asbury Church. Join Bobby-Gunther Walsh and help make and roll meatballs. Donations of home-made baked goods needed too. AUTISM SOCIETY LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs a volunteer Fundraising Specialist to be Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee and lead effort to develop, implement, and fundraise based on board’s financial goals. Duties include educate/train board members on fundraising, develop marketing plans, delegate tasks/roles, find grant opportunities, etc. Call Miriam Ludwig, mlludwig@ptd.net, 610-751-6532.

LEHIGH COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS, Allentown needs volunteers to serve on their Track and Field Committee. This committee organizes the event in which 700 athletes participate. Some duties are logistics, food, scheduling, transportation, etc. Meetings are once a month (September through May) for an hour or two. LEHIGH COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, Allentown needs volunteers to help with a Bowl-a-Thon at Hampton Lanes Bowling Alley, Northampton from 12pm-3:30pm on Sunday, November 19th. Duties include check people in to tournament, help make baked goods, help run bake sale, and help with basket raffle. This is a fundraiser event for the benefit of the Humane Society. LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK seeks caring compassionate, and committed community volunteers to serve in following areas: All Locations-errand runners, gift shop, emergency dept., in-patient pharmacy; 17th & Chew-Office and Recreational Activity; Muhlenberg – Sterile Processing and Hospitality; Cedar Crest-Children’s Surgery Center, Surgical Waiting, and Hospitality. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville needs volunteers to help with their Winter Light Spectacular from 5:30-10pm every Wednesday through Sunday, except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from November 10th to December 31st. Volunteers help with games/activities, snack stands, costumed characters, parking, fire pits, admission, and more. All opportunities are outdoors, so volunteers should dress weather appropriate! NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem is looking for volunteers to join Sustainable Energy’s makeover on Saturday, October 14th from 9am-4pm. Skilled and unskilled volunteers needed to assist with tasks such as implementing light weatherization measures, touching up paint, gardening/weeding, mural painting, general cleaning, and more. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers to help with the Open Gate Farm Tour. Volunteers needed to set up from 10am-4 to 5pm on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14th. Volunteers needed to help at the Event from 12noon-6pm on Sunday, October 15th with the Bake Sale, Parking, Greeters, Animal Stations, Food & Beverage, and as floaters to help keep things running smoothly.
