WDIY and Valley National Financial Advisors Partnership Delivers over 11,991 Meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania

(Lehigh Valley, PA) WDIY 88.1 FM, Lehigh Valley’s community NPR station, announced today that more than 11,991 meals will be delivered to hundreds of Lehigh Valley residents thanks to a partnership with Valley National Financial Advisors during the station’s recent fall membership drive.

Through this unique three-way partnership, for every $100 donated during the 2017 fall membership drive, Valley National Financial Advisors provided the resources needed to deliver 21 meals through the Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization based in Nazareth.

“We have been a proud supporter of WDIY for many years,” said Matthew Petrozelli, Executive Vice President & COO for Valley National Financial Advisors. “The added opportunity to help hungry families through Second Harvest makes this partnership very meaningful for our team.”

WDIY 88.1 FM has been on the air for 22 years and often partners with other local organizations and companies of the Lehigh Valley to better serve the community.

“We feel very humbled that through the support of WDIY members and this unique partnership, we were able to provide over 11,991 meals to people in need in our community,” said Wagner Previato, WDIY Executive Director. “All donations made to WDIY during our fall drive triggered a second donation from Valley National Financial Advisors to Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. The ‘double community benefit’ from a single donation continues to strike a chord with WDIY supporters. This is truly inspiring.”

“We say it all the time that it takes a community to feed a community. The generosity of WDIY, its supporters, and Valley National Financial Advisors will make an impact on the lives of our neighbors in need. Second Harvest Food Bank couldn’t provide food to the more than 60,000 people it serves each month, without help like this. We remain grateful for our compassionate and engaged community!” said Jessica Dokachev, Director of Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania.
