Last night the Sands Event Center was filled with positive vibes and good energy as 311 came to Bethlehem to entertain their loyal fans. At one point during the show, singer/guitarist Nick Hexum reminded the crowd that they’ve been playing together for 27 years, doing what they love, and bringing people together. That statement really sums up the way you feel at a 311 show. The band really connected to their fans who were moved by the grooves that 311 laid down. There was definitely no shortage of singing, dancing, and smiles in the room as the audience appreciated their blend of rock, reggae, hip-hop, and funk music. The show kicked off with “Do You Right” into a huge fan favorite “Beautiful Disaster.” They played all their hits like “Come Original,” “Amber,” “All Mixed Up,” and their cover of The Cure’s “Love Song.” And they played some of their new music from their latest album called “Mosaic.” There were two special treats for the crowd as well. There was a ripping bass solo by P-Nut and there was a killer drum solo by Chad Sexton. This drum solo turned into much more when all of the band members joined in playing the drums in unison on 3 different sets! The band really connected with the crowd as they finished out the set with “Unity” and “Creatures (For a While).” 311 came back onstage for the exciting encore, performing “Wildfire” and their huge hit “Down” that left their fans on a high note.
