ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION – Allentown School District Health Service is looking for RNs and/or LPNs to volunteer for their screening team.  All school districts in PA are mandated to perform screenings on their students from kindergarten to 12th grade every school year.  Screenings consist of height, weight, vision, hearing and scoliosis.  Call Dr. Kim Brannan, 484-765-4059.

 

COMPEER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs volunteers for one-on-one friendship matches.  Compeer matches volunteers from the community with members who are in stable, mental health recovery.  Volunteers spend time with the member doing things like talking over a cup of coffee, taking a walk, going to a free concert, and many more.  Hours are flexible and available in both Northampton and Lehigh Counties.  Call 610-774-1450 or email compeer@pbfalv.org.

 

MEALS ON WHEELS OF NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Bethlehem is seeking meal delivery volunteers (18+years).  Volunteer daily or as little as twice each month, according to your availability.  Volunteers must possess a valid driver’s license and have car insurance.  Application process includes criminal background check, orientation, and on-the-road training.  Call Keri Young, 610-691-1030 x20, kerig@mealsonwheelspa.org.

 

LEHIGH COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, Allentown is in need of volunteers to help with a large renovation project.  They are looking for artists to paint murals, people to help paint walls, clean up storage areas, and individuals to make baked goods and more!   Call Shannon Lauchnor, 610-797-1205 x308, shannon@lehighhumane.org.

 

LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville needs volunteers to help with their Winter Light Spectacular from 5:30-10pm every Wednesday through Sunday, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day through December 31st.  Volunteers help with games/activities, snack stands, costumed characters, parking, fire pits, admission, and more.  All opportunities are outdoors, so volunteers should dress weather appropriate!  Call Julia Bieski, 610-799-4171, jbieski@lvzoo.org.

 

SACRED HEART HOSPITAL, Allentown is in need of reliable volunteers to brighten the lives of their patients and visitors.  Many assignments are available, including Gift Shop, running errands, assisting patients/visitors, or greeting in their short-procedure waiting room.  Training will be provided.  Call Beth Fogel, 610-776-5413, bfogel@shh.org.

 

SENIOR CORPS RSVP of LEHIGH, NORTHAMPTON & CARBON COUNTIES, Bethlehem needs Driver/Escort volunteers and volunteers to do Grocery Shopping for senior citizens and/or individuals with disabilities.    Driver/Escorts provide rides to/from appointments.  Grocery shop once or twice a month.  Some shopping assignments may include transporting someone to and accompanying them through the store.  Hours are flexible based upon your availability and needs.  Call Diane Schrameyer, 610-393-1165, dms1408@hotmail.com.
