Democratic PA Senate District 16 Candidate Mark Pinsley Receives the Endorsement of Fellow Progressive and PA Lt. Governor Candidate John Fetterman

ALLENTOWN, PA— On Friday John Fetterman endorsed PA State Senate District 16 Candidate and progressive activist, South Whitehall Commissioner Mark Pinsley. Pinsley is running for the PA Senate 16th District seat currently held longtime incumbent, Republican Pat Browne.

Fetterman had strong words to back up his endorsement of Pinsley. He said, “We need bold, progressive voices in the PA Senate and I have no doubt that Mark Pinsley will fight for the people of his district. Mark is not someone who sees a problem and ignores it. He has been a fearless advocate for policies that help people in need. Mark’s district is the fastest growing area of Pennsylvania and the status quo is leaving too many families behind.”

Fetterman is the Mayor of Braddock, a western steel town that was on the verge of collapse before he took over. He brought in new jobs and tackled the deadly violence that plagued the town prior to his leadership. In 2016 he waged a campaign to become the Democratic nominee for US Senate. Speaking about his current race for Lt.

Governor he said, “I am running for Lt. Governor because I have seen the damage in our cities and towns caused by bad policies and corrupt career politicians. Pennsylvania’s working-class families are struggling to survive paycheck to paycheck. We need better schools and higher wages to help these families; we need better legislators to make that happen.

I need people like Mark fighting alongside of me in Harrisburg. For far too long the GOP has had a stranglehold on our politics, which has left too many of our communities behind. It is time to elect people like Mark who will fight for legislation that will improve the lives of the people of Pennsylvania.”

Pinsley was the first elected official in the Lehigh Valley to endorse John Fetterman for Lt. Governor at an Allentown campaign stop in January. Pinsley thanked Fetterman for his endorsement and again voiced his support for Fetterman’s bid for Lt. Governor. “There is no other candidate for Lt. Governor who understands the daily struggles of the people in my district. Having John working by Governor Wolf’s side will help advance policies that help working families across Pennsylvania.”

A successful entrepreneur, Pinsley started his first business at age 22. He also served in the Army Reserves for 6 years where he worked on helicopters as an aircraft structural repairer. He is a graduate of Northeastern University and an MBA graduate of the Kelley School of Business at the University of Indiana. Mark lives in South Whitehall Township with his wife Nina and their two children. He is the first Democrat elected to the South Whitehall Board of Commissioners in over 25 years.
