Northeast Middle School Performance of Getting to Know Once Upon a Mattress

.

Lehron “Dan” Deysher Remembrance – LHS is inviting any trumpeters, cornetists or buglers who have known Dan to join them on the final section of the Lost Chord.

As many of you are aware Dan Deysher was a very special person and very, very special to the Liberty Grenadiers. He quickly became known to our students the adopted grandfather of the band. Over the past 16 or so years, Dan traveled to Hawaii with us on three separate occasions, the 65th, 70th and 75th Pearl Harbor Anniversaries. Each time he represented the USS Pennsylvania and sounded Taps at Pearl Harbor and the Waikiki Holiday Parade.

In recognition of Dan’s service to his country, fellow veterans and community, the LHSGB has chosen to honor him at our Spring Concert. In memory of Dan, we will be performing the Lost Chord. We are inviting any trumpeters, cornetists or buglers who have known Dan to join us on the final section of the Lost Chord. If you are interested, please e-mail Keving Long at klong@basdschools.org for the portion of the Lost Chord that they are asking you to play. Memorization will be key. There will be no music stands available and direct overhead lighting will be limited. Just prior to the last section, you will walk onto the floor and join with the soloist and 39 other trumpeters from the LHSGB.

Rehearsal – Thursday March 22nd – 7:00pm Liberty High School Memorial Gymnasium

Performances – Friday March 23 – 8:00pm – we will perform about 8:40pm

Saturday March 24 – 8:00pm – we will perform about 8:40pm

WEEKLY NUTRITION and FITNESS TIPS

.

Healthy Tip from Michelle Martucci, RD, LDN

Dietician for Bethlehem Area School District

Commit to exercise as a family. Find fun ways to keep the family active. On nice days get the family outside. If you’re stuck inside find other fun ways to be active. Create an indoor obstacle course, have a push up or jumping jack competition, or turn on some music and have a dance party! Praise your family when they are active, and discuss the importance of exercise!
