Keystone Opportunity Center Announces New Staff

Keystone Opportunity Center, which runs a homeless shelter, low-income housing, and literacy education in Bucks and Montgomery counties, as well as a food pantry serving residents of the Souderton Area School District, announces the hiring of two new staff members: Malcolm P. Friend, Director of Resource Development, and Alan M. Raisman, Manager of Advancement.

Malcolm Friend, originally from London, England, joins Keystone Opportunity Center with fifteen years non-profit experience in the United States. Most recently leading the efforts of Mothers Against Drunk Driving across Pennsylvania and previously as a National Director with the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. He has been part of the Montgomery County community since 2000. “I am looking forward to building lasting relationships throughout our community who share our passion to house the homeless, feed the hungry and educate adults and families and invite you to contact me to discuss our shared vision.”

Alan Raisman joins Keystone Opportunity Center after more than six years serving non-profits in the Lehigh Valley. With a background in marketing, fundraising and event planning, Alan worked at Lehigh Valley Zoo, Wildlands Conservancy and Civic Theatre of Allentown, most recently as Civic’s Marketing Director. Alan grew up in Bucks and Montgomery counties and welcomed the chance to return. With the role at Keystone, he will be overseeing the communications, community outreach and volunteer efforts for the organization.

“I’m excited for the future of Keystone Opportunity Center as we welcome these two highly-experienced people to our staff,” said Arlene E. Daily, Keystone’s Executive Director. “When I joined Keystone it was obvious to me how much the community loves our mission. I knew right away that if I could find staff who would be out in the community, helping businesses and individuals to fulfill their desire to feed, house and educate people, a lot more of our neighbors could be helped.”

The first task that Malcolm and Alan have undertaken is organizing Keystone’s annual banquet, scheduled to be held April 19, 2018. Seating is still available. All proceeds go to helping people get food, housing and education to help turn their lives around. Learn more and buy tickets at www.KeystoneOpportunity.org/RSVP.
