BOUTIQUE AT THE RINK, Bethlehem is right around the corner (5/29-6/2) and many volunteers are needed to make this annual fundraiser successful. To learn more about their various volunteer opportunities, please attend a meeting from 2:30-3:30pm on Wednesday, April 4 at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St. Parking is available in back of building. EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA DOWN SYNDROME CENTER, Allentown needs volunteers to help with their 5th Annual 3.21 EPDSC RUN from 7:30am-12pm on Saturday, April 14th at Lehigh Valley Parkway, near the Fish Hatchery. Volunteers may assist with registration, start, refreshments, and act as course guides. No special training required to volunteer. 100% of proceeds raised stay local. INDEPENDENT SENIOR TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LV, Bethlehem is looking for volunteers willing to drive seniors to medical appointments, grocery stores, physical therapy, and other places they need to go. Drive when/where you want.   No minimum hours required. Must have own vehicle and clean driving record. All rides in Lehigh Valley area only. LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK, Allentown is looking for volunteers to be friendly visitors in seniors’ homes/apartments; the clients have been diagnosed with dementia but are still living on their own. After training, placement is made with a client requesting this service from Fleming Memory Center-17th Street. Visits will be for 1-2 hours at a time and include engaging in conversations, doing a puzzle, playing a game, etc. No medical care or housekeeping will be required at any time. PROJECT OF EASTON needs volunteers to serve as shopping assistants. Assistants accompany clients as they make their selections, providing guidance on the posted limits according to their household size and help to bag their selections when necessary. ST. LUKE’S UNIVERSITY HEALTH NETWORK, BETHLEHEM, Quakertown, and Warren Campuses are in need of Volunteer Escorts and Patient Advocates, Monday through Friday from 8am-12pm or 12-4pm. Spend time socializing with and providing comfort items to patients; provide a lending hand to staff by performing various supportive duties. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield has volunteer opportunities for feeding, watering, care of the animals, and ground maintenance. Help is also needed to clean up of the environment, the stalls, pens, and surrounding structures. Must attend a 2 hour orientation; available by appointment. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES, Allentown is raising awareness for National Foster Care Month with the 7th Annual Rock N’ Run 4 Kids 10k, 5k, and Kids Fun Run to be held on May 12 at Coca-Cola Park. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available from Set Up and Registration to Face Painting and Selfie Station Attendants. Something for all ages and everyone is welcome!
