LEHIGH VALLEY WINE TRAIL MONTH IN JUNE A MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION OF THE REGION’S VITICULTURE

Restaurant promotion and new event – The Vintner’s Experience –will celebrate 10th anniversary of the Lehigh Valley AVA.

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – April 16, 2018  – The Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Lehigh Valley American Viticultural Area in 2018 with a brand new event and restaurant partnership promotion to encourage wine lovers to buy and drink local wine in June.

Lehigh Valley Wine Trail Month will take place throughout June and features two components:

  • The Vintner’s Experience features unique experiences at each of the trail’s eight member wineries on weekends which will expose customers to the wine making process in a fun and educational way. One $25 ticket gets customers into all 8 experiences, or as many of the 8 as they wish to attend. They are allowed to attend each winery’s experience once. A list of experiences with descriptions follows and can also be found on the event web site. Each winery’s experience is offered once each weekend in June, so customers have four times during June to attend it.
  • A month-long partnership with 20 local restaurants will also encourage wine lovers to drink local in June. Each partner restaurant will feature local wines on their menus, some will serve special wine cocktails, and others will offer discounts on local wine by the glass.

To purchase tickets, customers should visit the event web site – www.LehighValleyWineTrailMonth.com – to be directed to ticket sales on EventBrite. After purchasing tickets, customers are taken to the Sched web site where they will create their own custom schedule of Experiences they plan to attend. One ticket gets a customer into each of the eight experiences one time.

The Lehigh Valley AVA is a federal designation that officially recognizes the region for grape growing and wine making. In 2008 the members of the wine trail worked together to formally apply for the AVA designation from the federal government. Wineries whose wines are made from grapes grown within the region are permitted to put “Lehigh Valley” on their labels as the source of origin. Lehigh Valley Wine Trail Month is supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Winery Association in Harrisburg.

Get more information on the event, review the list of partner restaurants, and purchase tickets to The Vintner’s Experience at www.LehighValleyWineTrailMonth.com.

The Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is a non-profit organization of wineries whose mission is to promote agri-tourism and to create a premiere wine destination and grape growing region while promoting Pennsylvania wines from the region. For more information, visit www.LehighValleyWineTrail.com.
