“COCO” PLAYING IN THE ARTS PARK FRIDAY *** Postponed till September 14, 2018***



The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation opens its 2018 “Movies in the Park” season on Friday, May 4 at the Arts Park at 5th & Court streets with the showing of “Coco.”

“Coco” stars Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garcia Bernal and Benjamin Bratt.

“Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.”

The approximately 105-minute movie is rated PG and will begin at dusk (approximately 8:30pm).

Beginning at 7:00pm free pre-movie arts and crafts will begin, followed by a live musical performance at 8:00pm.  A food vendor will also be on site.  All pre-movie activities and the food vendor are provided by the PuertoRican Cultural Preservation Organization.

The rain date is Saturday, May 5.
