BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs additional mentors for their athletes. A mentor needs to be a supporter, adviser, guide, coach, teacher, someone who gives help and advice to help a person learn a role, and can give specified training in a particular subject or event. BOUTIQUE AT THE RINK, Bethlehem is right around the corner (5/29-6/2) and many volunteers are needed to make this annual fundraiser successful. Volunteers are needed for set-up, donation drop-offs, sale days and break down. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth is seeking students (age 14+) for their Summer Youth Program. Help with activities, visit residents, and assist getting residents to appointments around the facility. LILY’S HOPE FOUNDATION, Coopersburg is an organization that supports babies, children, and families with unexpected and urgent needs due to premature birth. Volunteers are needed from 5-7pm for their “Packing Parties” on the 3rd Monday of each month (6/18, 7/16, 9/17, etc.). Volunteers assemble small items (i.e. bottles, pacifiers, coloring books, toys, hand sanitizer, etc.) for their “Packages of Hope.” Call John Kunes, 267-374-8512, john@lilyshopefoundation.org.

 

MANITO LIFE CENTER, Allentown needs volunteers to help children/adults with special needs and disabilities with riding sessions, horse care, barn and general farm maintenance, landscaping, and administrative support. MUSEUM OF INDIAN CULTURE, Allentown is looking for a self-motivated volunteer who enjoys connecting the public with cultural events to serve as their Social Media Coordinator. VALLEY YOUTH HOUSE, Bethlehem is in need of volunteers for the John E. Walson, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, May 21 at Lehigh Country Club. Volunteers should arrive at noon for instruction. Hole-in-One witnesses are needed from 1-6pm; these volunteers should dress weather appropriate, bring a chair, reading material, and sun protection. YOUTH EDUCATION IN THE ARTS, Allentown is looking for volunteers to help us recruit young people for our program, Cadets2 (C2), a weekend-only, regionally performing drum and bugle corps. Recruitment initiatives will include phone calls, emails, and direct messages on social media as outreach to potential members. Volunteers with strong communication/writing skills, a musical background and/or experience with the marching arts, and availability in the late afternoon/early evening are preferred.
