CEDAR BEACH POOL OPENS SATURDAY



 

Allentown’s brand new Cedar Beach Pool opens to city residents for the 2018 season this Saturday at 12 noon 

A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for 12:30pm.  DJ Jose Manuel Cintron will entertain from 12:00 to 2:00pm.  DJ Jose has been the musical entertainment for Teen Pool Parties in Allentown the past two summers. 

The pool will be open to city residents only from 12 noon to 7pm on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27.  Identification, like a driver’s license, city I-D or school I-D, is required for admission.  Those without proof of residency will be turned away. 

Cedar Beach Pool will be open to the general public on Monday, May 28 

The pool will then be open weekends only until June 16 when seven day a week operation begins through Labor Day.  Weekend occupancy is restricted to city residents only. 

Resident daily admission is $6.00 for adults ages 18-59 and $4.00 for youths ages 4-17.  Children 3 and under are free as are seniors 60 and older with a resident senior citizen pool permit.  Non-resident daily admission is $8.00 for youths and $12.00 for adults. 

The new pool is ADA accessible and has new zero depth and stair entries.  There are new drop and tube slides and climbing walls.  There is a new intermediate area, a lap/general swimming area and a new tot area. 

Patrons are not permitted to bring food into the pool area.  Cedar Beach Pool has a fully operational concession stand available for food and drink purchases. 

The City’s Bucky Boyle and Old Allentown Fairgrounds spray parks also will open for the season this Saturday, May 26.  Spray parks are open daily from 12:00pm until 7:00pm weather permitting.
