It was a challenging game for the Steelhawks to break ahead of the Jacksonville Sharks at the PPL Center Saturday night.  Within the first few minutes of the game, the Steelhawks had the lead at 2-0, but sadly couldn’t regain the lead by the end of the game.  The Sharks got the victory, with a final score 34-31.

By the end of the first quarter, the Steelhawks were trailing 2-9, and gave their best effort with a strong defense, which halted a couple of touchdown attempts by the Sharks.

The Steelhawks remained scoreless in the second quarter, while the Sharks scored several touchdowns which brought the score to 9-24.

The Steelhawks regained some momentum in the third quarter with an early touchdown, and as the Sharks attempted to score deep into Steelhawk territory, the Steelhawks intercepted.  The crowd rose to their feet to cheer on the receiver as he ran downfield to score.  In the final moments, the Sharks got the last touchdown in on the quarter, which brought the score to 18-31.

The Steelhawks kicked off the final quarter by scoring a touchdown within the first two minutes.  The anticipation for the next touchdown continued to build throughout the crowd.  With ten minutes left in the game, the Steelhawks came through with another touchdown, evening up the score to a tie, 31-31.  The Sharks broke out of the tie with almost six minutes left in the game with a successful field goal.

Come out and root for the Steelhawks at their next home game, Saturday, July 7th against the Massachusetts Pirates!
