Leading Industry Experts to Present at Inaugural Hatch House 3D Printing Event

Bethlehem, P.A. – September 3, 2015Hatch House, the Lehigh Valley’s only live/work business incubator, announces its first 3D Printing Innovation event taking place Wednesday, September 23 from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. at Victory Firehouse in Bethlehem. The event will showcase the technological advancements of 3D printing and rapid prototyping, feature informational talks from several of the area’s industry leaders, and provide event attendees with an opportunity to network with industry peers or simply learn 3D printing from the bottom up. Area college students looking to gain industry knowledge can attend the event for just $5; the cost of adult tickets is $20.

Ed Graham, lead engineer at ProtoCAM, Kevin Billett, Development Manager, CADD Edge, Jeffrey Boerner, director of the Fab Lab at Northampton Community College, business development leaders at Prism Engineering, a Cimquest 3D expert, and Fred Carter, a leader in innovating new 3D printing techniques at Lehigh University will reflect on 3D printing in industrial and technological space and provide valuable feedback on improving upon prototyping in an industry growing by leaps and bounds. The event is the first of its kind for Hatch House, which opened its doors in July and serves as a live-inresource center for companies in the seed-growth stage. With resident space fully occupied at their South Side Bethlehem location, Hatch House currently has opportunities for free non-resident and mentor-network memberships.

“Even five, 10 years ago, before 3D printing really took off, mockups were expensive. It was tough to iterate on ideas,” said Hatch House President & Founder Steve Boerner. “If you wanted to tweak one thing on a design, you typically didn’t because you wanted to design many tweaks before you outsourced your next prototype. The future of 3D printing is always going to be limited by the materials and how fast the printer can be. The materials are getting stronger and the process is getting stronger every day. We’re excited to have amazing local leaders in this space give their insights into the future of 3D printing at our event on September 23rd.”
