4TH ANNUAL ALLENTOWN WOOFSTOCK AT CEDAR BEACH

SEPTEMBER 12, 2015 FROM NOON-5:00 P.M.

Friends of the Allentown Parks is pleased to present the 4th Annual Allentown Woofstock, a dog and family friendly event on September 12 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Allentown’s beautiful Cedar Beach. Exhibitors and animal rescue groups will line the pathway under the shady sycamore trees at the children’s playground. New this year are several Health & Wellness sessions on Pet Nutrition, Behavior Management and Grooming Care. Dogs of all ages and sizes are invited to play Doggie Basketball and go Bobbing for Balls. (Red Light, Green Light and Simon Says will follow the Behavior Management session.) Pet Blessings will be performed at 1:00 and the public is invited to attend demonstrations by Allentown’s Police K9 unit and Judge, the Allentown Fire Department’s arson dog.

Sign up your pooch for three fabulous contests: Pet and Parent Look Alike, Allentown’s Flower Power Pooch and Allentown’s Grooviest Dog! Advance registration is available on-line at www.allentownparks.org. On-site registration begins at noon and contests begin at 3:00 p.m. Prizes are donated by Chaar Pet Supply.

Visit the Friends Book Fair and vie for Silent Auction items while children enjoy coloring, chalk art and more at the children’s area by the volleyball courts. Dogs can relax at the Doggie Rest Station. And, of course, visit with the event media sponsor – 100.7 WLEV and enjoy the fun!

Potential participants must adhere to the following rules and regulations: – Pets must be leashed (if retractable, must be able to lock on short setting) or otherwise be properly restrained – Pets must be up to date on vaccinations, people friendly and non-aggressive – Please do not bring animals that are in heat or under four months old – Water bowls will be provided for pets – Owners/handlers are responsible for their pet’s behavior as well as for cleaning up after them.
