AMERICA ON WHEELS MUSEUM, Allentown can use helping hands with the following: Tour Guides & Docents – presenting tours to groups and individuals sharing the fascinating history within the Museum collection (on-site training is available). The team of volunteers helps ensure that the Museum is one of the best in educational programs/lectures/exhibits and entertainment where visitors can learn about the history of the automobile. ARTSQUEST, Bethlehem Christkindlmarkt is open 6 weekends from Nov 16 to Dec 23. Volunteers (min age 15 or 14 w/adult) are needed for various positions like booth attendants, St. Nick’s assistants, merchandise helpers, customer service assistants, and much more. BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs an Assistant Manager to learn and help with all aspects of local program management and prepare to transition to Program Manager’s role. BSO is a year-round program run entirely by volunteers to provide local sport competition to people with intellectual disabilities of all ages. FLINT HILL FARM EDUCATIONAL CENTER, INC., Coopersburg needs IT assistance (age 17+) with running weekly social media updates, educational class registrations and on-line donation options. ITNLEHIGHVALLEY – Help a senior age in place and remain independent by volunteering to drive to medical appointments, grocery stores, church services, etc. Minimum age 24. Must have your own vehicle, clean driving record, and love seniors. Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton drivers needed weekdays and week-ends. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. No minimum hours required. LEHIGH VALLEY BUSINESS GROUP is starting Project Keep Warm (PKW) to collect new/gently used winter items (coats, hats, gloves, boots, warm socks, sleeping bags, blankets, tents – NO clothing) and distribute to the less fortunate in our area. Consider being a drop off location; join the PKW planning committee; donation coordinator within your business/social group; volunteer to pick up & deliver donations; or help sort & deliver items to the streets or shelters. THE SALVATION ARMY FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION SERVICES, Allentown is looking for energetic, hardworking volunteers to help make our office shine! Some of the duties would include; paint touch-ups, wiping down doors & walls, cleaning windows and organizing supplies. Date is flexible, but we’d love to have help during the month of November. WILDLANDS CONSERVANCY, Northampton Please join us Oct 27 to plant more than 200 trees and shrubs at Wayne Grube Park in Northampton. This project is being completed in partnership with Northampton County with the goal of improving the health and long-term viability of the riparian buffer at this site location. Participants should plan to get dirty! We will provide all the tools you need, along with water and snacks.
