ALLENTOWN PUBLIC WORKS ANNOUNCES FALL SCHEDULE



 

The Allentown Department of Public Works is announcing the fall yard waste schedule, and upcoming electronics and leaf collection schedules.

The last regularly scheduled day for the yard waste site at 1401 Oxford Drive to be open is Monday, November 19 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

The yard waste site will be open on Saturday, December 1 from 10:00am to 12:00pm for yard waste drop-off and for those Allentown residents who previously scheduled electronic drop-off appointments.  The next electronics recycling date available to schedule an appointment is Saturday, January 5, from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Future events will be announced at a later date.

District by district street cleaning of leaves began in earnest on Monday, October 29.  Residents are reminded to try to keep the piles about a foot away from the curb and to make sure there are no branches, rocks, or debris in the piles.  Residents are asked to keep nearby inlet or catch basin grates free of debris.

As of November 26, residents are urged to bag their leaves in plastic garbage bags for pick-up by the Streets Department.  Residents must put their bags at the curb and call the Bureau of Streets at 610-437-7638 or 610-437-7691.  Please allow a few days for pick-up of the bagged leaves.  Bags that have a mixture of leaves and garbage will not be picked-up.
