Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is Going Solar

Support for a new roof and solar installation came from an anonymous foundation and from IBEW Local 375

ALLENTOWN, PA — Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center today announced plans to replace their roof and install solar panels.
Made possible through a grant from an anonymous foundation as well as in-kind labor from IBEW Local 375, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is expected to save 46% of its energy costs through this switch. The panels are under warranty for 25 years, meaning expected energy cost savings to the non-profit are more than $350,000 through the life of the panels.

Roof work begins next week and will be completed by Alan Kunsman Roofing. Solar installation will be completed in November by Sun Pulse Solar and the IBEW Local 375.

“Thanks to the generous support of IBEW Local 375 and a generous anonymous foundation, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is able to complete an essential roof replacement, predict long term energy savings, and reduce our organization’s environmental foot print” said Adrian Shanker, Executive Director of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
