The City of Allentown’s Parks Department is the creative talent behind Lights in the Parkway.  Parks’ supervisors Jason Hertz and Michelle McGinniss and the Parks Department staff have provided the lighting expertise needed to produce just the right illumination, shadow and silhouetting effects for this imaginative wonderland. Hess’s iconic soldiers will be back to add to the magic and light up the night, and many of the beautiful trees in Lehigh Parkway are wrapped in lights and shining brightly!

Lights in the Parkway continues to show commitment to use energy-efficient LED lights in all new displays and to convert more existing displays each year to LED bulbs. LED lights use 85% less energy than traditional bulbs and last about four times longer.  As of the 2018 season, nearly 90% of all bulbs used in displays will be converted to LED.
