BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs a head Gymnastics Coach and additional gymnastic volunteers for Rhythmic Gymnastics. Practices are held from 6:30-8pm on Wednesdays from November-June. Volunteers are required to become Class A Volunteers through Bethlehem Special Olympics by completing the background check and few online trainings. FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY, Saturday, November 17th, is held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, It is an opportunity for families to work together to serve their community, have quality time for busy families, strengthen communication, and have a positive impact on local communities.  The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley has several local opportunities on their website www.volunteerlv.org.   Listings are updated regularly with new opportunities.

 

HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS need volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. This program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. To participate, go to www.volunteerlv.org and fill out a 2018 Donor Pledge Form. Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at UGI Auditorium at 2121 City Line Ave., Bethlehem from 12noon-6pm on Tuesday 11/27 through Friday 11/30.

 

PHOEBE HOME, Allentown could use some extra help: Thanksgiving Day Bingo from1:30-4:30pm; Christmas Parties during the week of December 17th; Christmas Day visit with residents who do not have families and to help with special programming; December 26 through 29- help with Marathon Bingo Event; Holiday Events throughout the month of December. SIXTH STREET SHELTER, Allentown is looking for volunteers to donate (canned/boxed) food items and frozen/fresh turkeys for 30 families to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. SOUTHSIDE ARTS DISTRICT, Bethlehem – He’s making a list and checking it twice! Volunteer to help on December 1 for their Naughty or Nice Cocktails & Cookies Crawl. Register Santa’s elves before they go on the Crawl from 9am-4pm, or be a Greeter from 12-5pm on the street helping folks find their way. THIRD STREET ALLIANCE, Easton is holding a Sock Hop Dance on Sunday, November 18 from 7-10pm at Third Street Alliance/Simon Mansion gym. Event helpers (6-8), minimum age 16 with parental support, are needed. Duties include monitoring hallways, offer directions, and/or greet guests at front door. Help with snacks and beverages. WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE, Bethlehem needs volunteers to help gift wrap now through December 14 at their 301 Broadway, 5th Floor, Bethlehem location.
