ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION invites volunteers to a Christmas Gift Wrapping Party on Saturday, December 15. You will be wrapping gifts for men at the Allentown Rescue Mission. ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION is looking for 100 volunteers to read to kindergartners in 60 classrooms in 14 schools across the city. Next training is Thursday, December 13 from 2-3pm at Jackson Elementary Childhood Center, 517 N.15th St., street parking available. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Nazareth needs volunteers to help with their Pumpkin Pie 5k and Scenic Walk Event at 33 S. Main St., Nazareth on Thanksgiving morning from 8-10:30am. Help to direct runners and walkers for 5k run, cheer on runners, register participants, and clean up following the event. Deadline for volunteer inquiry is 11/20/18. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS still need1,500 boxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. Please consider donating to this program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. It is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at UGI Auditorium at 2121 City Line Ave., Bethlehem from 12noon-6pm Tuesday 11/27 through Friday 11/30.

 

LEHIGH VALLEY BUSINESS GROUP, Bethlehem is looking for service providers, food providers, and volunteers to help at Veterans Stand Down event Thursday, December 6 in Allentown. Volunteers will help in setting up, assisting in the food area, and assisting with signing in or helping veterans with other needs. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers every day of the year, including Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Ideal for individuals or groups to assist with ranch activities, such as feeding and watering the animals. Minimum age with supervision is 10 years old, without adult supervision is 14 years old. TURNING POINT OF LEHIGH VALLEY, INC., Allentown is looking for volunteers to coordinate a “Spirit of Empowerment” Holiday Gift Card Giving Drive now through Friday, December 14. These gift cards (increments of $25-$50), will empower survivors of domestic abuse to be part of holiday shopping experience for their loved ones by allowing them to pick out just the right gifts for their families and children.
