AMERICA ON WHEELS MUSEUM, Allentown can use helping hands with the following: Tour Guides & Docents – presenting tours to group/individuals sharing the fascinating history within the Museum collection (on-site training is available). The team of volunteers helps ensure that the Museum is one of the best in educational programs/lectures/exhibits and entertainment where visitors can learn about the history of the automobile. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Easton/Phillipsburg Branch is looking for volunteers to join them in serving breakfast to their participants and the community, as well as assist in wrapping gifts bought on site at their Vendor Sale from 8am-2pm on Saturday, December 1. LEHIGH VALLEY BUSINESS GROUP is starting Project Keep Warm (PKW) to collect new/gently used winter items (coats, hats, gloves, boots, warm socks, sleeping bags, blankets, tents – NO clothing) and distribute to the less fortunate in our area. Consider being a drop off location; join the PKW planning committee; donation coordinator within your business/social group; volunteer to pick up & deliver donations; or help sort & deliver items to the streets or shelters. PBS39/WLVT, Bethlehem is holding a Holiday Party December 15 in the SteelStacks campus for the TeleBear Cub Club and needs volunteers from 9:30am-12:30pm. Volunteers will assist with crafts, facilitate movie time, help with pictures with Santa and TeleBear, and assist with other fun activities. All volunteers need to provide criminal and child abuse clearances; details for obtaining will be provided. Deadline for inquiry is December 11. THE SALVATION ARMY of the GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem needs cooking teams to prepare community meals on Sundays, serving at 1pm. VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem needs volunteers to help with our Holiday Hope Chests program. Shifts start 10AM through 6PM Tues Nov 27 – Fri Nov 30 for wrapping empty shoe boxes. Also 10AM through 3PM Mon Dec 3 – Wed Dec 5 to fill orders & help load vehicles of nonprofits. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Minimum age 10 with parental support.
