ALLENTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION is looking for 100 volunteers to read to kindergartners in 60 classrooms in 14 schools across the city. Next training is Thursday, December 13 from 2-3pm at Jackson Elementary Childhood Center, 517 N.15th St., street parking available. Volunteers (min age 15 or 14 w/adult) are needed for various positions like booth attendants, St. Nick’s assistants, merchandise helpers, customer service assistants, and much more. CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY, Bethlehem has opportunities for volunteers who love to wrap presents for shoppers at The Outlets at Sands, Bethlehem, on several dates and times in December. The proceeds benefit the Cancer Support Community of Greater Lehigh Valley. Two volunteers are needed for each date. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is seeking volunteers to help with their Winter Light Spectacular from 5-10pm every Wednesday through Sunday, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from now through December 30. Volunteers help with games and holiday activities, snack stands, costumed characters, fire pits, admission, and more. All opportunities are outdoors, so dress weather appropriate! PROJECT OF EASTON INC. is looking for an outgoing person to volunteer at the front desk of their Fowler Literacy Center from 9:30am-12:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. This volunteer will answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate person and service, as well as assist walk-in clients with information.
