Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center to host First LGBT Pride Night at Lehigh Valley Phantoms



 

The Night’s Focus Will Be Promoting Inclusion and Diversity in Sports
 
ALLENTOWN, PA — Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center today announced that in partnership with Lehigh Valley Phantom’s they will host the first LGBT Pride Night – ‘If You Can Play You Can Play’ later this season. The February 15th home game is against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers..

 

The night will include a performance of the National Anthem by Lehigh Valley Gay Men’s Chorus, and community members may purchase tickets through Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center to receive an exclusive Pride night T-Shirt with their game ticket.

 

“Pride brings our community together, including in sports. LGBT people have always been a part of sports but it’s nights like this one that make our pride visible.” said Ariel Torres, Pride Programs Manager at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. The center also hosted the first pride night at the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs in June 2018.

 

Adrian Shanker, Executive Director of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center stated, “I am proud to live in a community where our minor league sports teams seek out opportunities to demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion. This first Pride Night at the Lehigh Valley Phantom’s is a great way for all of us to share the Phantom’s commitment to inclusion in sports.”
