CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY will be hosting a Volunteer Kick-off from 7-8PM on Feb 26 to jumpstart 2019 and help you gain an understanding of who we are, who we serve and why volunteers are so important to us. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is seeking volunteers (age 13+ or 10+ with adult) to assist with their annual “Wild-at-Heart” event from 10am-3pm on Saturday, Feb 16. MEALS ON WHEELS of the GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem is looking for volunteers to deliver meals and/or grocery shop for home-bound seniors and disabled individuals in the Lehigh Valley. PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY THERAPY DOGS, INC., Kutztown seeks volunteers with therapy dogs to visit residents of various nursing homes throughout the Lehigh Valley area. SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK, Nazareth needs volunteers to be “Backpack Buddies.” Assemble packages of food and organize/load packages for kids-at-risk who receive a weekly package of food to get them through the weekend until Monday’s school breakfast. THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SERVICES, Allentown is looking for “buddies” (18+ years) to join their upcoming round of HALO. The HALO Project is a 10-week outpatient intervention program starting on Feb 25 from 6-8pm for foster/adoptive kids and their families struggling with the impacts of childhood trauma.
