Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts presents its spring musical, Sweeney Todd School Edition: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, April 3-7.

BETHLEHEM, PA —The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts)  will present its spring musical, Sweeney Todd School Edition:  The Demon Barber of Fleet Street- A Musical Thriller, April 3-7 in the Charter Arts Theatre, located at 321 East 3rd Street, Bethlehem.

This production is directed and choreographed by Kelly Minner Bickert with musical direction by Neil Chaban and technical direction by Peter Wrenn-Meleck.

“We are so excited to be working on this epic Sondheim musical,” says Bickert. “Some of the themes of the history of man repeating itself in the struggle for power are so relevant still today. The work is so “meaty” that it really gives all the artists something to sink their teeth into.”

The show’s costume designer is Joey Haws with hair and make-up design by Cheryl Vlasak, prop design by Cynthia Foraker, sound design by Tessa Seals, and light design by Laura Scott. This year’s spring musical was produced by the school’s new production design department under the leadership of its director, Rae Labadie.

The lead cast includes:  Jayden Browne (Sweeney Todd), Chloe Lu McCarty (Mrs. Lovett), Derrick Sanders (Judge Turpin), Rebecca Ripley (Johanna), Elijah Siler (Anthony Hope), Michael Scuotto (Beadle Bamford), Gabe Blaikie (Tobias Ragg), Katie Conlon (Beggar Woman), and Dylan Vlasak (Pirelli).

Evening performances April 3-6 at 7 PM, matinee performance on April 7 at 2 PM. Tickets are $13-15 and can be purchased online at www.Charter Arts.org or at the door if not sold out.
